Asos and Wayra have created a new fashion technology accelerator programme dedicated to startup companies disrupting the e-commerce scene.

Companies that allow consumers to crowdfund gifts, facilitate smoother parcel delivery and use AI to improve the online customer experience are among the start-ups selected for the new initiative, which is part of Asos’s wider commitment to supporting up-and-coming talent.

The companies Action.ai, Wishround, and Xpreso will receive office space within Wayra’s UK academy in Central London, as well as investment and access to Asos’s local and global networks and customer bases.

Cliff Cohen, Asos CIO, said: “Fashion evolves incredibly quickly, as does technology, and we need to be ahead of trends in both sectors in order to best serve our customers and partners. These start-ups are each on the cutting-edge of fashion tech.”

The new fashion tech accelerator joins Asos and Wayra’s existing initiatives Asos Supports x Talent and Asos Fashion Discovery. The efforts were launched to search for smart technologies to accelerate the pace of innovation within the fashion technology space and make the customer experience more enjoyable.
