Cartier's Christmas pop up in St Germain comes with multiple twists

Published

Cartier will open a novel pop up in St Germain for Christmas that, unlike other ephemeral boutiques, will be truly multipurpose. Both Paris and London are braced for a whole slew of new Christmas pop ups, from geodesic dome Igloo markets in the UK capital to the Flash Design Store and Studio Marant inside Paris’ most happening new hotel, The Hoxton. But the new Cartier concept is multidimensional, seeing as this Yuletide location will feature a cinema, gallery, library, grooming and – it being St Germain – a literary salon.

Cartier’s novel space boasts a Grand Bar and Groom Service – located at 76 rue des Saints-Perès in the heart of St Germain, the tony Left Bank quarter. There, the luxury diamond marque will display a selection of its most famous creations – from its Tank watches to Panthère rings and bracelets.

Its Groom Service will offer Cartier jewellery repair, instant shining and concierge assistance. Guests can also embark on an “Elevator Story” in a mock-up of a Grand Hotel lift, for a refresher history of the maison, founded by Louis-François Cartier in Paris in 1847.

Cartier has also hired the noted French fashion journalist Loïc Prigent to film a series of interviews with legendary clients and ambassadors of the marque: presented in a red-velvet couch Cartier Theatre screening room. Around the corner in iconic department store Le Bon Marché, the brand has redecorated a Cartier cool corner in a similar style just for Christmas.

Entitled "Un Cartier de Paris", the Pop Up opens from Saturday, December 18 to Friday, December 24, and fans of the brand should note that daily, before lunch and cocktail hours, there will be a Red Box raffle with surprise gifts.
