Cosmopolitan Netherlands names Josephine Kay editor-in-chief

Publisher Hearst Netherlands announced today that is has named Josephine Kay editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan Netherlands, effective since 10 September.

Kay succeeds Anne Marije de Vries Lentsch, who will lead the recently launched Hearst Agency.

Prior to joining the Cosmopolitan Netherlands editorial team, Kay was editor-in-chief of the Dutch online magazine Bedrock.nl, which is published by Wayne Parker Kent and focuses on health and lifestyle.

Kay has also written and edited articles for Glamour.nl, Vogue.nl, KLM airline’s Holland Herald, Nsmbl.nl, Happinez.nl, Women's Health and she was co-author of Bedrock Het Boek (The Book).

Luc van Os, CEO at Hearst Netherlands, said in a press release: “With her digital background and proven journalistic qualities, Josephine fits perfectly within our acceleration to a more digitally oriented publishing company.”

Josephine Kay, editor-in-chief at Cosmopolitan Netherlands, added: “I am looking forward to connect print and digital even more at Cosmopolitan. The cross-media brand has a strong foundation, now it is up to me to further expand the brand and prepare Cosmopolitan for the future.”

Hearst Netherlands is part of New York City-based Hearst Corporation. In October 2017, Hearst Netherlands acquired the Dutch branch of Gruner + Jahr Media. In addition to Cosmopolitan, the company publishes titles including Glamour, Vogue Nederland, Jan, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, Quote, Designer Vintage, National Geographic and Quest. Hearst Netherlands is market leader within the domains of millennials, men's and luxury.
