Following Paul Smith in 2014, the Woolmark Company has collaborated with Raf Simons this year. The global authority in charge of promoting Australian wool, and supporter of designers and the world of fashion, has forged a partnership for autumn/winter 2017/2018 with the talented designer who is also the acclaimed artistic director of Calvin Klein, a role he has had since August 2016.

Woolmark announced the collaboration in January and said that it would be the first collection to mark the beginning of a long and tight knit collaboration with the creative team at Raf Simons for developing and sourcing merino wool.

Via  the partnership, Raf Simons is launching his new design, a limited edition sweater in 100 percent merino wool, available exclusively in Japan at Ginza’s Dover Street Market.

Woolmark described the limited-edition oversize sweater as knitted in a luxury yarn spun in Italy and adorned on the front with “I Love Tokyo” in Japanese.

The influential Flemish designer has designed this sweater in a nod to his new partner, and as an homage to Japan, of which he is a big fan. The “Tokyo” sweater has been on sale since November 30, in the concept store of Comme des Garcons designer, Rei Kawakubo.
