The Maison Méditérannéenne des Métiers de la Mode (MMMM), which was founded in 1988 and was a catalyst for the creation of the fashion sector in the Mediterranean, has held the Open MyMed festival since 2010 as a cultural showcase of its work. The event was widely reported on in the media last year due to a double exhibition by the designer Simon Porte-Jacquemus.

The event is open to 19 Mediterranean countries: Albania, Cyprus, Algeria, Croatia, Egypt, Spain, France, Greece, Israel, Italy, Lebanon, Malta, Morocco, Montenegro, Portugal, Slovenia, Tunisia, and Turkey. Every year, the Open MyMed Prize contest invites 13 laureates, selected by both a jury of professionals and a general-public vote, to participate in the Fashion Booster Campus program in Marseille.

Over the course of five days, the laureates will be offered personalised support to aid their international development with the creation of a brand platform and workshops tailored to their basic needs (marketing, business, and communications), a package that is valued at 30,000 euros.

After the 2017 edition selected 20 candidates out of the 156 entrants and received over 15,000 votes, the 2018 batch has been launched and registration is open until October 31. Winners will be announced on December 4.
