Aigle manufactures nearly 800,000 pairs of boots a year in France, at its factory in Ingrandes-sur-Vienne, near Châtellerault. The business was created in 1853, and the brand is now the last French manufacturer of rubber boots.

Aigle has a staff of 1,285 employees, 695 of them in France. Over 400 people work in its manufacturing plant, 250 of whom are designated as 'master rubber workers'.

For its organisation and expertise, Aigle was awarded the 'Origine France Garantie' (guaranteed French provenance) label on Wednesday 5th October. Yves Jégo, President and founder of the Pro France association, has handed the label to Romain Guinier, Aigle's CEO.

Between 50% and 100% of the manufacturing cost in a product labelled 'Origine France Garantie' is generated in France, where all the transformations it undergoes also take place.

The boots segment is worth a quarter of Aigle's business. In 2015 the company generated a revenue of €161 million, and claims a presence in 70 countries worldwide.
