Canadian fashion footwear and accessories company Aldo launched on Wednesday a new responsive website and e-commerce platform. The website went live in several global markets including the US, Canada and Europe.

The new website is the latest phase in the Montreal-based company's digital transformation and hopes to drive Aldo’s ecommerce goals, while showing shoppers that it's a digitally-centric brand.

The revamped global storefront was designed to be faster and functional across devices while meeting digital accessibility standards, and more “connected” with the introduction of styling tips from social media influencers. What’s more, the website also introduces a new visual design language and photography.

"Our new digital experiences are aimed at inspiring people to explore more from Aldo and make it a primary destination for shoes, bags and accessories. Our new ecommerce website acts as the core engine for our omnichannel strategy, as a natural complement to our stores,” said Jennifer Maks, VP Omnichannel, in a news statement.

Earlier this month, Aldo’s founder’s eldest son David Bensadoun took over as chief executive officer.

Aldo Group was founded in 1972. The company has over 2,300 points of sale stores in 100 countries around the world, operating under two signature brands, Aldo and Call It Spring, and a multi-brand retail concept, Globo.
