Capsule to launch women’s show in Los Angeles this fall

Capsule Trade Show announced Thursday the addition of a Los Angeles women’s show to its trade show schedule. Capsule Los Angeles will be held at the California Mart in downtown Los Angeles on October 17 and 18, 2016.

Attendees of the inaugural show can expect a more curated assortment of brands compared to the company’s New York Women’s show that currently houses over 600 participating brands. Capsule Los Angeles expects to debut with 100 global brands across categories of active, swim, accessories and apparel. The show focus will be set on Eastern US and European labels looking to attract Western US retailers.

“Capsule is heading to Los Angeles in response to a growing demand in our community, particularly from East Coast brands, who wish to show at LA Market due to the high caliber of retailers who attend,” said Capsule co- founder Deirdre Maloney. “Demand for our niche of progressive and advanced contemporary labels is growing right now, especially on the West Coast, and we’re launching there in order to meet that demand. Downtown LA is a great, revitalized destination for shopping and culture right now; we’re excited to be adding presence there to our calendar, in addition to our shows in New York, Paris and Las Vegas,”

Capsule announces its migration west one month after Axis, its ongoing women’s show partner, announced a Los Angeles show slated to begin this year. Capsule and Axis held their first partnered show at the Piers in New York City in February 2015 and held their biggest partnered show in February 2016. Both trade show companies are currently under Reed Exhibitions.
