Desigual's supply chain director departing

Desigual's top management confirmed to FashionMag that its supply chain director, Manel Jimenez Otero, will be leaving at the end of the year. Formerly with Danone, Damm and ChupaChups, Otero will leave at the end of a year full of upheaval for the retailer and its top management.

The confirmation follows rumours reported by the Spanish press, and just as the brand reported its latest financial results: a 2.2% decline in revenue over the first nine months of the current fiscal year, a far cry from the 16.2% rise posted in 2014.

The current fiscal year is increasingly looking like a boomerang year for the retailer, which has slowed down the pace of new store openings and began a streamlining of its network.

At the start of the year, Desigual's CEO Manel Jadraque stepped down from his executive role, a decision reportedly made by mutual consent. Thomas Meyer, the founder and chief shareholder, took on single-handed control at the time.

Last September, the retailer formalised the arrival of Katherine Jofre as Global Expansion Director, replacing Joan Rouras, who was close to Manel Jadraque.
