Sportswear label Dirk Bikkembergs has signed a new licence deal for its footwear collections with Global Brands Group Holding Ltd (GBG), a leading apparel, footwear and accessories manufacturer which, over the years, has contributed to the international development of brands like Calvin Klein, Juicy Couture, Reiss, All Saints, Aquatalia and Fiorelli. Zeis Excelsa, the former owner of Dirk Bikkembergs, was until now its licensed footwear manufacturer.

The agreement is effective from the Autumn/Winter 2019 season, and its objective is to grow the Dirk Bikkembergs footwear range and extend its distributive footprint, via the wholesale channel and international department stores. The new collection will be distinctive for its contemporary style and the use of avant-garde materials and manufacturing processes.

“The new partnership with GBG marks a significant additional step along the brand’s restyling journey, which began a few seasons ago,” said Dario Predonzan, COO of Levitas Spa, the company which now owns Dirk Bikkembergs. “Given Bikkembergs’s strong athleisure DNA and the luxury industry experience of a major group like GBG, we can’t wait to see what the future has in store for us."

Dirk Bikkembergs operates 50 monobrand stores worldwide, of which three are located in Europe, and is also available at 150 multibrand retailers. The label also sells its products worldwide through its e-tail site.
