ENK is continuing on its Chinese adventure. After bringing American brands over to China for Chic Beijing, the American trade show orgqniser has created a joint venture with Shanghai-based Shangtex, the group behind the Mode Shanghai tradeshow.

Mode Shanghai 2012

Together the two have created the Shanghai Textile & ENK Exhibitions Company with the objective of developing the Shanghai trade show, which has been in existence since March 2010. “Mode Shanghai and Coterie have similar positionings” said Geun Jik Lee of Mode Shanghai.

The first thing we will see is the increased numbers of exhibitors at the shows, and then from 2013 you can expect to see two shows a year. “Some exhibitors stopped coming to the show simply because we didn’t have events in October. They were choosing to focus on their showroom instead,” continues Geun Jik Lee. The name of the event should remain unchanged, except for the addition of the ENK logo in the foreground.

The next Mode Shanghai event will take place from 12 to 14 March 2012. The last show rounded up some 200 brands including Annabel Winship, Karel Mills and Cavalier Bleu. An inside source has said that ENK should be ending their participation in Chic Beijing in 2014.
