Fashion brand Eileen Fisher is the latest label to publicly champion female advancement.

The company, which is known for its focus on sustainable fashion, has launched a ticketed event series titled ‘Women Together' with the aim of empowering women via workshops, discussions and live video streams.

Renowned feminist, activist and journalist Gloria Steinem will be present at the series' debut event, titled ‘Revolution from Within', which will take place on April 5 at the Eileen Fisher Learning Lab in Irvington, NY. Speaker and writer Jamia Wilson and 5Rhythms movement leader Amber Ryan will also be on hand to offer experiences and practices designed to help women express themselves more fully and incorporate mindfulness and connection into their daily lives. Further events are scheduled throughout the spring, featuring guest speakers such as the Google Vice President of hardware design Ivy Ross and women's health expert Dr. Christiane Northrup.

"We created Women Together with the same intention that underpins the design of our clothes: to support women to be at ease and comfortable in the fullest expression of themselves," said the brand's founder and CEO, Eileen Fisher, adding: "We hope that women of all generations and backgrounds will discover something within these experiences that enlivens them and sparks new ideas. When women come together, there's a world of possibility that unfolds."

The news comes days after it was announced that Fisher has been awarded the ‘Positive Change Award' at the 2019 CFDA Fashion Awards, in recognition of her focus on sustainability.

Fisher is not the only designer currently doubling down on female empowerment: so far this month, the luxury conglomerate Kering has announced plans to promote the work of female photographers via a new partnership with the photography festival Rencontres d'Arles, while the lingerie label Coco de Mer has dedicated the proceeds of its ‘Icons' collection to fighting the practice of female genital mutilation (FGM) with the help of supermodel and activist Waris Dirie. The House of Dior also launched its third annual ‘Women@Dior' mentorship program, while H&M USA marked International Women's Day by teaming up with the United Nations Girl Up initiative.
