It’s not just the women’s football World Cup fast approaching this summer (in July and August), but English professional women’s teams and English female players specifically, are hot property for fashion brands at the moment.

Hera x Rachel Daley

So British street fashion brand Hera is the latest to appoint one of the England national team’s key squad members, Rachel Daly, as its new ambassador.

The partnership will see the Lioness and Aston Villa player collaborate on “captivating campaigns and excitingly, a limited edition design collaboration… bringing the brand vision to life as well as showcasing her distinctive style off the pitch”.

Daly becomes the first person to kick off the brand's latest campaign — ‘Meet The Waymakers' — that shines a spotlight on “inspiring individuals and their unique journeys”.

The ongoing campaign will be brought to life through a video series where chosen people “look behind the scenes into who they are as an individual, their journey including highs and lows as well as any important learnings”.

Talking about her journey as a footballer, Daly says: “Football was largely deemed as a men’s game for a long time. [But] the women that paved the way for my generation… went to war for us in football. I think they don’t get enough credit. They fought tooth and nail to help to get us to a very privileged position in terms of exposure and payments. The way the women’s game is now is in such a good place; it’s only going to get better and better for the younger generation.”

She added: “I want to inspire people, especially the next generation. I want to be that role model they look up to.”

Georgia Streeton, Hera’s Chief Brand Officer, also said: "With [Daly’s] personal style, commitment to her community, and her remarkable journey, [she] perfectly embodies our brand's mission. Through this partnership, we aim to shed light on Rachel's off-pitch persona, her influence on generations, and her aspirations for the future.”
