The Victoria & Albert Museum has named Holly Fulton as the feature designer for its upcoming "Fashion in Motion" event.

The Scottish-born creative will mark the 10-year anniversary of her eponymous label with four free retrospective catwalks shows in the V&A's Raphael Gallery on July 20.

"As an institution, the V&A holds special resonance from my days studying at the RCA; it was a bastion of culture that I held very dear when I arrived in London and it offered me inspiration, stimulation and generous scones when the creative juices were not flowing," London Fashion Week regular Fulton said in a statement. "It is a great privilege to have a piece in the V&A archive and to stage a show in these hallowed halls."

In landing a starring role in Fashion in Motion, which aims to display clothing in movement, Fulton is following in the footsteps of multiple prestigious designers including Alexander McQueen, Jean Paul Gaultier, Jenny Packham, Missoni and Vivienne Westwood, amongst others.

Since founding her own label in 2009, Fulton has built a strong reputation and is known for her signature witty aesthetic, which draws on graphic embellishment, pop art references and art deco structures. She has won a British Fashion Award, an ELLE New Designer accolade, and was named Innovator of the Year 2016 at the Scottish Fashion Awards.
