Following an article published last week in the New York Post, rumors are circulating that H&M is planning to open an outlet store in the new World Trade Center.

H&M

According to the American press, the Swedish retailer may be taking the second floor in the base of 4 World Trade Center. The location is reported to be directly across from Century 21 on Church Street and will place H&M close to the Saks Fifth Avenue location moving to the area.

Some of the other retailers at the WTC site include Camper, Stuart Weitzman, Breitling, Swatch, Michael Kors, John Varvatos, Hugo Boss and Zadig & Voltaire. A non-retailer highlight is an outpost of Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich's Italian mega-market Eataly, located just above the purported new H&M location.

Westfield, which paid $1.4 billion to operate the retail portion of the World Trade Center, declined to comment to the New York Post.

For its part, H&M has replied that it has nothing to announce.
