Denim trade show Kingpins has partnered with the ZDHC Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to promoting sustainability within the textile, apparel, leather and footwear industries, for a series of eco-conscious educational webinars.

The series will be presented at Kingpins’ Amsterdam show on January 20 and 21, featuring webinars focused on ZDHC’s chemical management and wastewater tools and guidelines, which aim to bring the industry toward zero discharge of hazardous chemicals. Open exclusively to denim mills exhibiting at Kingpins Amsterdam, the series will cover these tools and guidelines, and provide the option of direct questions to a ZDHC panel, Kingpins said.

The series marks the latest eco-conscious initiative from Kingpins, which has hosted global trade shows thematically centered around sustainable solutions in the denim and textile industry. Most recently, the 2019 Kingpins Amsterdam show required exhibitors to meet mandatory standards in corporate social responsibility and chemical management and handling.

“Kingpins is dedicated to doing its part to educate, inspire and equip the denim industry – from mills and manufacturers to brands and retailers – to enact real and meaningful change,” said Andrew Olah, founder of Kingpins Show and Kingpins Transformers, a summit series focused on innovation in the denim industry.

“These ZDHC x Kingpins webinars are another tool we are using to engage with the industry and promote best practices and help our industry do better.”

ZDHC first began collaborating with Kingpins on developing sustainable chemical management for Kingpins exhibitors. The organization will have booths at the next Kingpins Amsterdam show, scheduled from April 22 to 23, and at the Kingpins New York from June 2 to 3.
