Exactly 20 years ago, in 1987, Angela Missoni took charge of creativity at the fashion label founded by her parents Rosita Jelmini and Ottavio Missoni in 1953. The anniversary will be celebrated by the Italian label with a special event, featuring a combined show for its womenswear and menswear collections at next September’s Milan Fashion Week, wrote Missoni in a press release.

The show will introduce the label's Spring/Summer 2018 collections and will be held on Saturday 23rd September, followed by a lavish party in the evening.

Heralded as "exceptional", the show is expected to function as a test for Missoni, as for several other labels, of the opportunity of changing its collection presentation format in future.

Recently, another Milanese label, Etro, took the plunge and announced it will be going co-ed next September, catching up on the mixed-show surge which has hit fashion capitals in the last two seasons.

The calendar revolution, which began last year, is increasingly becoming a feature at the major fashion weeks.
