Pat McGrath’s three-month pop-up store in Selfridges Oxford Street has been so successful, the beauty brand is set to become a permanent fixture in the luxury department store.

The beauty phenomenon opened a retail experience called The Mothership in Selfridges London earlier this year, and the space was the first destination in Europe to stock the brand’s full beauty range.

Now Pat McGrath will have a permanent beauty counter at Selfridges Oxford Street, and launch at Selfridges Manchester later this summer.

"Pat McGrath Labs was our biggest and most successful launch ever," noted Sebastian Manes, Selfridges buying and merchandise director. "Beauty is a very big category at Selfridges and Selfridges.com, which has been growing double digits in the last three years, but the Pat McGrath Labs brand has been nothing short of record-breaking.”

The brand’s pop-up store in Selfridges gave the retailer its best beauty-selling day and week in its history. A Pat McGrath Labs product is now sold every 40 seconds via the upmarket store.

“It has been an honor for me to collaborate with Selfridges,” Pat McGrath said. “With The Mothership pop-up, and now the permanent counter expansion, we have the opportunity to reach so many more like-minded beauty lovers – in new markets, with new experiences, and many new major moments to come.”

Widely considered the world’s most influential makeup artist, Pat McGrath rose to prominence in the 1990s and has worked with some of the world’s best luxury designers and brands including John Galliano, Prada, Miu Miu and Giorgio Armani.

She is known for her innovative techniques and highly pigmented eyeshadows, and her brand is estimated to be worth over $1 billion.
