Porsche Design has strengthened its management team, increasingly positioning itself as a lifestyle brand. After recently promoting Canadian designer Pierre Costin to the role of Creative Director, the German luxury brand announced the appointment of Mimmo Mariottini as Vice-President for Global Sales.

The group stated in a press release that Mariottini will also be in charge of the American subsidiary, together with Karsten von Engeln, the Chief Operating Officer of Porsche Design America.

The American executive, who grew up in Italy, has a wealth of experience in the luxury goods sector, having served the same role (VP for Global Sales and USA CEO) for Swiss footwear manufacturer Bally, where he worked for 10 years. He had formerly worked at jeweller Bulgari.

Porsche Design has also strengthened the management team of its watch division, created in 2014, with three new hires: Thomas Herzog (formerly with Cartier and Breitling), who will take charge of international wholesale development for Porsche Design watches, and Oliver Krebs and Henning von Boddien, who will complete the brand's sales team on the domestic market.
