Takko co-CEO Arnold Mattschull steps down

Arnold Mattschull, the co-CEO of value clothing brand Takko, is stepping down from the role after seven years at the helm of the discounter.

Arnold Mattschull, the co-CEO of value clothing brand Takko, is stepping down from the role after seven years at the helm of the discounter.

He led the company through a difficult period in 2016, and implemented a successful turnaround strategy which led to a refinancing in October 2017. The brand is now available in 17 countries through 1,941 stores, and has nearly 18,000 employees.

Mattschull will remain on the Takko board in in an advisory capacity, the company revealed on Thursday. Additionally, his son Alexander Mattschull, who was named co-CEO last year, will take over the executive management of the company on 1 February.

Alexander Mattschull has been a member of the executive management team for 11 years and is currently in charge of product management, sourcing, quality management, planning & allocation, HR, corporate communication and logistics.

"As CPO Alexander Mattschull established the company's international offices in India, China and Bangladesh, perfected the strength of the Sourcing department, and grew Takko Fashion into a completely vertical discounter," said Arnold Mattschull.

"I am looking forward to this new role. Over the years we have laid a very good foundation for further growing our business with our new strategic alignment as a Smart Discounter. We have a wonderful team who will successfully shape and determine the future of Takko Fashion," added Alexander Mattschull.
