Vans has appointed Fara Howard to serve as its vice president of marketing. The executive has held previous positions at Pepsi and more recently at Dell, where she was in charge of the company's ecommerce strategy. Fara Howard will report to Vans president Kevin Bailey. She replaces Doug Palladini, who was promoted to Vans vice president and general manager of the Americas last year.

In her new role, she will oversee the marketing strategy of the booming brand owned by VF (whose portfolio also includes The North Face, Timberland, etc.). Vans has more than 415 stores in the United States and worldwide.
